Tarigami seeks justice for open merit candidates, urges faster polciy rollout

Senior CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday called for justice for the job aspiratants competing under open merit category, saying any further delay would deepen uncertainty among job aspirants amid rising unemployment and limited job opportunities.

In a post on social media platform X, Tarigami said the rationalisation of the reservation policy had emerged as a key concern for candidates competing under the open merit category. He noted that the Cabinet had cleared a revised framework which, according to reports, includes an increase in the share allocated to open merit candidates.

Tarigami said the revised policy, once formally notified and implemented, should ensure justice and equitable treatment for open merit candidates, and urged that the process be expedited.

“Any delay will deepen uncertainty among the job aspirants”, Tarigami said.
